Welcome to the ASSITEJ World Congress and Performing Arts Festival

We are proud to present the festival program for the 16th ASSITEJ World Congress and Performing Arts Festival. ASSITEJ celebrates theatre for children and young people made by artists from across the globe. The endeavor of the theatre makers – whether from Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe or Australia – is to create experiences and memories which celebrate, question and consider the world around us and within us, provoking young people to feel, think and see into the past, present and future.

ASSITEJ 2008 presents a dynamic program of shows for young children to older teenagers in spoken word, multi-media, dance, music, large-scale and miniature puppetry and physical theatre.

Presented in Adelaide, Australia over ten days in May 2008 come and join hundreds of national and international guests from around the world, along with thousands of children and young South Australians - suspend time and allow your imagination to run free!

Aside the from the Festival program ASSITEJ registered delegates can participate in a diverse variety of professional forums, workshops and industry events which will connect you to peers and colleagues from around Australia and the world.

I look forward to seeing you at the theatre. Click here to read my Program Notes
