What kind of practice is occurring across the Asia-Pacific region? The forum will begin by providing an overview of theatre for children and young people in the region, then focus on the state of affairs and practice in specific countries.

 

What distinct skills and considerations (language, form, content, etc.) are required to write plays for young audiences? Or is excellence in writing for adults enough? Are more theatre makers seeking to work across all age groups, from children to adults?

 

What’s at the cutting edge of Indigenous theatre? A forum and workshop will explore the creation of Indigenous theatre for young audiences in Australia and overseas – the background, challenges and best practice models.

 

What kind of different processes are professional artists employing to create work? This forum examines research and the participation of young people in the conceptual stages of creative development, as well as case studies of Australian companies.

 

This forum will focus on collaborations between companies and artists with a specific focus on collaborations between non-Indigenous and Indigenous artists. It will look at process, protocol and the challenges these

collaborations bring.
