Katrine Karlsen is an educated contemporary stage artist/actress from the Norwegian Visual Theatre Academy, 2004. Previous to her acting education she trained as a puppeteer and puppet-builder and later studied dramaturgy at the University of Copenhagen.
Shortly after graduation Katrine founded GRAENSE-LOES www.graenseloes.dk - a project-based art & theatre production company where she works as the Artistic Director. She now also works as a freelance actress and stage designer at several other theatres.
Besides managing GRAENSE-LOES Katrine is a Board Member of the artpolitical union “Independent Artists” (uafhængige scenekunstnere www.scenekunstnere.dk) and a representative in the collaborative union “Council of New Stage Art” (Fællesråd for Ny Scenekunst www.nyscenekunst.dk). I am also a “test-user” of the new (and still under construction) international art netbase - the Prambase, www.prambase.org and I actively support the philosophy of OpenSourceTheater.

Kartine looks forward to participating in the congress and to use this opportunity to share, learn, and further develop and expand my international network.

GRAENSE-LOES
www.graense-loes.dk
GRAENSE-LOES is a 3 year old art collaboration, which aims at creating contemporary stage art with an experimental and audiovisual expression. We take a particular interest in investigating the line of production. GRAENSE-LOES has a non-hierarchic structure where all the involved participants contribute and support each other’s artistic skills and knowledge.
GRAENSE-LOES aims at developing a peculiarly confronting stage language which does not compromise neither verbally, visually or with the use of technology to express its message.
