ASSITEJ Children's Forest

10,000 South Australian trees will be planted in May 2008 to celebrate the 16th ASSITEJ World Congress and Performing Arts Festival for Young People. Trees For Life, SA’s premier environmental organisation will grow the plants from local seed collected by community volunteers and South Australian children will help local councils to plant them. Over their lifetime, the plants will provide habitat for native birds, animals and butterflies, improve the soil and water quality and help clean our air by absorbing carbon dioxide and producing life giving oxygen.

Additional trees will be grown in carbon forest sinks for delegates who choose to offset their flight emissions through carbonneutral.com.au.
