Junkyard Symphony

by Ben Walsh

"A true original... His improvisations are mesmerizing and at times breathtaking on a variety of percussion set-ups, including taiko drums, standard kit, water glasses, flute and kazoo."

The Adelaide Review

If it’s the beat of a drum that moves you, and you love the language of rhythm, then you can’t miss the powerful Junkyard Symphony.

Fusing ancient drumming techniques with contemporary electronica and using instruments designed and built by himself, Australian rhythm master Ben Walsh invents new approaches to rhythm and sound. Ben uses his body in every way imaginable to create a visual-aural arena of rhythmic mayhem that defies physics and allows the audience to share in his unbelievable display of skill and musical virtuosity.

Integrating technology into his piece, he has created a virtual percussive sound score to support his energetic live drumming performance that brings a modern edge to an ancient art form.
