Six of Pamela Allen’s charming and whimsical stories come to life in Patch Theatre Company’s Mr McGee and the Biting Flea.
Stories emerge from suitcases and crates as three curious warehouse workers transform the contents of a storeroom into miracles of music and play. Crates, trunks, cases, ladders, buckets, mops and pumps become the “play elements” used in telling the stories. Each story is framed by a distinctive musical treatment featuring an eclectic range of musical styles.
Patch Theatre has beguiled more than 50,000 children around Australia with this inventive, fast, funny and frenetic production. The classic stories featured include Mr McGee,
Alexander’s Outing, Belinda, Brown Bread and Honey, Inside Mary Elizabeth’s House – and, of course, Mr McGee and the Biting Flea.
