Nyet Nyet's Picnic

by Snuff Puppets & Indigenous Artists

"Be prepared to be scared witless when you encounter Snuff Puppets...these giant puppets delight in wicked humour and even the odd bit of romance."

Herald Sun

Nyet Nyet’s Picnic revives ancient stories from the dreamtime, creating a scary, enlightening and engaging night of theatre.

Giant puppets, dance, music, light and fire come together in this entertaining exploration of local monsters, bunyips and spirit creatures. The show vividly brings to life these stories with the aim of ensuring that Australian Indigenous mythology be remembered and nurtured.

Nyet Nyet’s Picnic is a collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists – performing artists in Nyet Nyet’s Picnic come from across the Aboriginal nations of Victoria.

Snuff Puppets are a giant puppet company based in Melbourne, Australia. They combine the elements of puppetry, live music, visual and physical theatre to create a unique and idiosyncratic performance language.
